School OKs long hair when boy cites faith

So this kid gets sent home for the horrible crime of having long hair. He goes home and comes back saying that he’s a Sikh and isn’t supposed to cut his hair. The school looked into it and said okay. I would be more impressed with their tolerance if the hair policy wasn’t so stupid.

Is it really?

Guilty pleas save two arsonists state prison time in church fires

They’ll serve time concurrently with the two year state sentence they already have. I was struck by this quote:

“What people need to understand is that 10 years is a very long time, particularly when you’re in your 20s,” said Tommy Spina, Cloyd’s attorney. “This time will not be served in what is commonly called Club Fed, but will be served in a secure federal institution followed by state prison.”

It seems to me that if you have sixty or so years to live, ten years isn’t really that much. Now, ten years for Scrushy, that would be a significant portion of what he has left.
