The News:

1. Buries criticism of this “report” after several paragraphs of face-value reporting;
2. Fails to report that the “Pacific Research Institute” is a right-wing corporate apologist shill group. A quick perusal of their site shows old standbys like global warming denial, new ones like attacks on Massachusetts’ and California’s health care initiatives, and an upcoming “Middle East Overview” by the discredited racist Daniel Pipes.

These people have no credibility but the News is more than willing to lend some of theirs. There’s a second “report” from the Chamber of Commerce, which can even more easily be ignored.

That could have gone better

Considering that they paid $37 billion for the failing automaker… Ouch. Say what you will about American industry, we can still lose money with the best of them, and the Germans can’t do anything about it.
