S&P report concludes Birmingham bond rating is strong, not affected by Jefferson County debt woes- al.com

I mean, the mayor is the same guy who presided over the bond mess. Speaking of BMLL:

Langford said the report came as no surprise to him.

“I am glad to have an official confirmation of the message that I have been sending,” he said Wednesday. “The city is in good fiscal shape and we have shown a great deal of fiscal responsibility. We will continue to do so.”

Fiscal responsibility. So says the man who wants to spend nearly a million dollars giving out free bus rides.
