This storm is just stumbling around the Atlantic Ocean. You don’t normally see loop-the-loops like that, do you?

I’m no meteorologist but I’m going to say that you do see this more often with systems that aren’t so well organized. I guess it’s rare for a full blown tropical storm to meander around like that but for a garden variety low pressure system it wouldn’t be considered odd at all.
Actually, if you get two of them together they’ll do loops with each other. It’s like some hurricane frat party.
Same thing happened to me the last time I visited the islands. Must be that damn rum
