You know, it’s kind of admirable to stand up for a completely wrongheaded principle to such a degree that you’ll give up millions of dollars. Augusta National Golf Club is so set against letting women in that they’ll sponsor the tournament themselves and ditch the sponsors who were pressuring them to join the modern era.

Bill would restrict commutations
“You know, we’re not killing nearly enough people. What we should do is restrict the governor’s power to commute death sentences!”
This wouldn’t actually do that. It would limit the governor’s commutation power to only changing a death penalty conviction to life without parole. You know how many death penalties have been commuted in this state, by the way? One.

Drivers say Alabaster mayor crosses line
The mayor of Alabaster (a south-of-Birmingham suburb) says he isn’t taking the law into his own hands. He’s merely tailing people in his official vehicle and then calling police to the scene to charge them with traffic violations. Which is completely different.
