650,000 gallons and counting

Repairs fail to stop Tuscaloosa sewage leak

The leak is pouring into Stone Creek. Which empties into Hurricane Creek. Which flows into the Black Warrior River. Which flows into the Tombigbee River. Which flows into the Gulf of Mexico. Which is part of the ocean. I guess, compared to the whole ocean, 650,000 gallons of untreated sewage isn’t much, but here it’s our drinking water. The city claimed that the leak was fixed, but it’s not.

Who’s next

Many possible Pryor successors

I think it’s very likely that Governor Riley will eventually confirm Bill Pryor’s deputy Richard Allen to the AG post. Allen is serving as interim AG; Pryor got the job originally the same way, appointed to fill out the term of his boss Jeff Sessions when the Evil Little Troll was elected to the Senate. Unlike Pryor, Allen says he wouldn’t run for re-election.

There are a number of other candidates, including the aptly named Terry Butts, Roy Moore’s former chief attorney in his suits to preserve the Granite Calf. Me, I’m going to suggest to Frank Raddish that he demand that Moore be appointed to the job.
