Shelby County Sheriff’s Office sets up cold case unit with retired investigators – Breaking News from The Birmingham News – al.com

The unit is comprised of five retirees who all live in Shelby County and “still feel they have a responsibility to serve the public,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Seriously, this has got to be a TV series. It’s right in CBS’ wheelhouse, if the writers ever come back to work.

  1. Hmmm… Retirees. Cold cases. If they couldn’t solve them the first time…

  2. All through the last part of 2007, the paper here ran a cold case series, dwelling in horrific detail on crimes committed years ago, interviewing the family, and so on. Maybe this is a trend. The boomers are as unwilling to let go of the crimes of their era as anything else.

  3. Sounds more like some thing for the Hallmark channel or Lifetime (with an all female cast).

Del, before us boomers get shoved in to the great biomass fuel generator, maybe we should clean up our messes first. Lot of cases got shoved under the file cabinet in the 60’s – 80’s.
