After claiming he was told by someone to delete four and a half pages of findings from a report critical of the schools, Mims then announced that nobody told him to, that he pulled the pages for someone to work on and somehow they weren’t put back in. And then, somehow, the other pages were renumbered to disguise that the deleted pages were ever there. Weird! Even the Birmingham School Board had enough at this point and suspended him. He was given the opportunity to resign but refused.
Mims is still getting paid. Quite a lot. He’s on a three-year, $1.75 million contract.
