Why wouldn’t the City Council spend money on all of BMLL’s contracts? They say that it’s because there’s not enough money for everything. Larry, however, has the real answer: They’re crooked and bitter!
Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford said Thursday that the City Council’s funding cuts this week for large projects in his 2009 budget were retaliation because he refused to give city jobs and contracts to friends of council members.
“They’re just angry because I won’t hire their friends and buddies,” Langford said. “They have made it personal and I’m tired of it now.”
Yes, it’s the City Council that’s made things personal. Only them.
