Melanie Bouyer wins Lipscomb mayor’s race, ousting Mayor Deborah Miller – Breaking News from The Birmingham News – al.com

Bouyer was the lady who Riley appointed to the Lipscomb city council, but who had to resign because she didn’t live in the district. She won election pretty handily. It remains to be seen how long before she’s arrested.

This is only a moderate exaggeration

Hurricane Bound For Texas Slowed By Large Land Mass To The South | The Onion – America’s Finest News Source

As I’ve said many times, only hurricanes that hit the US Mainland count. What’s a “Mexico”?

And yet, I don’t care

Northport turnout steady despite wet conditions | TuscaloosaNews.com | The Tuscaloosa News | Tuscaloosa, AL

I live in Northport but have no intention of voting. I don’t know what the issues are and frankly all I know is that my water rates will go up, because they always go up. You would think we had Evian on tap. Anyway, this race was mildly interesting because every day, including the last several of rain, I got to drive past the actual mayor of Northport standing around and waving to passing cars. That’s just the kind of thing you don’t get in a big city.

And what’s Roy doing?

STLtoday – Court briefs debate Mo.’s school Bible case

Apparently, handing out Bibles to public school students in Missouri. I wonder what he’d think if CAIR went around handing out Korans. Well, no, I don’t, because I know what he thinks.

Cats a bigger danger to fish stocks than people: study | Lifestyle | Reuters

As the guy says in the article, the cats will eat trout offal. The real problem is that people feed the good stuff to their cats. So don’t blame the cats because of the way people act towards them.

So, what’s Larry up to?

Mayor wants to bring electronic bingo back to Birmingham – al.com

Among other things, he wants a useless non-binding referendum showing that people want to bring stupid electronic bingo back to the Birmingham Race Course, which, of course, it owns by his “good friend” Milton McGregor. Larry says that he would support this no matter who owned the Race Course, but that’s ridiculous. If he did, why does he want to confine it to the Race Course?
